Peer Evaluation

As for this section of this PT, I have chosen 3 of my friend's blog to evaluate on.
  1. Grace Lee Shi Min (17)
  2. Maryam Jamiylah (22)
  3. Zahirah Rosle (36)
Looking at Grace's blog. I realise that she has clearly indicated all her meals with the time, name of food and quantity stated. She has been very specific and honest in her collection of her diet. Though what could be improved was that she could have done it in a table format so that her recordings are clearer and easier to infer and understand. Other than that, her 3 day diet was fine.

As for her analysis, I realise she has used the healthy diet pyramid which I myself has also used. This shows that she knows the types of tools found on the HPB website as well. Also, she has analysed mostly each of her meals. I feel that her analysis is good in a sense that she is able to specifically identify the specific amount of protein or carbohydrate or vitamins in each of her meal. I think that it is a really good way to analyse her diet. It shows and helps her track her meal better. Despite that, she has only used 2 of the tools. I think that if she had used another tool, her analysis would be more accurate as well.

For Grace's One Dish Meal. I think she has chosen a really healthy meal as the ingredients used are moderate.
Also, she has clearly stated her ingredients for the meal. She has followed the one dish meal definition as well Although, I think she could have improved in a sense that she could have elaborated more about why she chose to substitute the original ingredients as the one listed on her blog.

In summary, I feel that her blog was well done and her analysis was good. I was able to understand the type of diet she has.

For Maryam's blog, she has clearly listed her diet in a form of a table. I think this is a really organised way of doing it. Also, she has indicated the servings of each meal. This helps in knowing the amount she has taken for every meal. I really think her tracking is a job well done.

Maryam has used 2 of the tools on the HPB website like what Grace has done as well. She has used the food intake assesment and has gotten a result. She also stated that she feels the test isnt accurate since some meals are not qquite the same. I agree with her and I think that it is good she has pointed that out. Despite that, I think she could have used 1 more tool in her analysis as well to ensure accuracy in her analysis. Overall, I think her analysis was quite good and she did use atleast 2 tools.

For Maryam's One Dish meal, she has indicated the negative things about the original meal and has indicated ways of which it can be improved. She knows what is the common unhealthy ingredients found in her meal and thus changed them. I think she could have elaborated on her meal even further so we are able to understand the modifications made.

Her reflection shows that she has learned alot from this PT as well. She is now able to know her diet and knows what is important for her to grow.

I feel that her blog was well doned.

Zahirah Rosle's Blog

Looking at Zahirah's blog, she has recorded her 3 day diet in a very organized and neat way like how Maryam did hers. Also, she has indicated the time at which she ate those meals and also the specific quantity for each meal. Zahirah has used the Energy & Nutrient Compositions of Foods. I think this is a good way to analyse her meal as she is able to know the composition of food in her meals. Despite that, I think she should have wrote her interpretation analysis and what it says about her eating diet.

As for her one dish meal, she has clearly indicated in her blog all the ingredients as well. This shows her that she is certain of her dish and what it is made of. Also she indicated the cooking method used clearly for the ingredients. She has modified the dish using other ingredients to substitute it. For example, she has used basmati rice instead of harmuni rice as it has less starch. Also, she has used chicken wing as there is lesser fat. All in all, I feel that her one dish meal is a healthy meal.

Lastly, Zahirah's reflection was quite good. This is because, she was able to identify her diet. Also, she expresses how this PT has benefitted her since she is in a sports CCA, she now knows how to balance her diet to stay healthier.

Her blog was really good and easy to understand. Now i understand her type of diet as well.

In conclusion for this Peer Evaluation, all 3 girls have done well in their blog. I am able to understand the type of diet they have. (:
